Beau Brummel was a pre–World War II manufacturer based in Solingen, Germany — a region globally recognized for high-quality blade production. The company also marketed its various razors internationally under sub-brands such as Dubl Duck, Napoleon, and Pearl Duck, particularly in the United States.

Beau Brummel Cutlery Co. No:35 Steel Straight Razor features a 5/8" carbon steel blade with a half-hollow grind and a square point tip, ideal for precision shaving and edge control. The spine and tang display hammered texturing — a distinct aesthetic and tactile element. The blade is forged from classic high-carbon Solingen steel, known for its hardness, edge retention, and ease of honing. 

Cosmetically, the razor shows minimal signs of prior use and only minor age-related oxidation. Mechanically and structurally, the blade is in excellent condition, with no cracks or chips.

The scales are custom made from African Bubinga hardwood, also known as African Rosewood. They are finished in a matte surface to complement the vintage aesthetic while offering durability and water resistance.

Straight Razor Care Instructions

Unlike any other shaving tools, straight razors require special care. The cutting edge must be protected from impacts and contact with any hard surface. After each shave you must clean and dry your straight razor with a soft paper towel without touching the very edge and strop it to keep it sharp. You can strop on the canvas side of your strop to clean the cutting edge after each shave.  Please do not try to sharpen your straight razor by yourself if you don’t have adequate honing experience, otherwise you can cause irreparable damage. You may consult our straight razor honing service. If you won’t be using your straight razor for a long time, it’s best to cover it with a thin coat of oil to keep it rust free. This is especially important for straight razors with carbon steels, as carbon steel is very prone to rust in humid conditions. Keep your straight razor in a dry place and out of children’s reach.
