Merkur Stahlwaren GmbH & Co. of Solingen, founded in 1986 has been producing various safety razors all have a place in traditional wet shaving fans hearts. This experienced company is accepted as one of the most important names in the market. The 37C or simply known as the “Merkur Slant” has a very special slanted head which holds the razor blade in a guillotine like bent fashion. The logic behind this design; as the blade cuts the whiskers in an angled way, resulting a very smooth and close shave with fewer passes compared to regular safety razors. It can cut any types of whiskers with ease. But this is a design which is quite aggressive in its own way, and only suitable to experienced users. You’ll need to be more careful and respectful when using this safety razor. A proper angle with zero pressure is a must. Also slanted heads are not suitable for everybody. Some skins get along very well but some don’t like it.
