Fatip Safety Razors

First, let's start giving a short history. Fatip brand was first founded in 1950, in Milan. Fatip classic safety razor was appreciated with its classic design and craftsmanship and became quite popular among men in a very short time in 1950s. After a while, however, the company went into trouble because of financial problems and was eventually purchased by an artizan scissors company. That company has purchased all the production machines and materials along with the brand, and has continued to produce safety razors in the same way for several years. However, after some time, production was completely terminated.

In the 80s, a craftsman named Ilario Fazzini revived the Fatip brand. Production moved to Premana, a small village of Lecco, in the province of Florence. Premana is located 1000 meters above lake Como; It is a famous craft center for knives, scissors and other cutting tools produced by skilled craftsmen with high hand workmanship.

Here, Fatip products have started to be produced with more modern machines and innovative production processes for even higher quality than before. But Fatip's classic, elegant design language was never changed. Since then, production has continued in the same way and all the products are handcrafted with various stages by a skilled craftsman at each step.

Today Fatip razors are very popular and well-known all over the world. Produced with a variety of finishes on the handle and heads made of durable solid brass casting, these three-piece shavers share a common design language. Fatip has an elegant and masculine design language that is classy and serious at the same time. Because of that, it easily steals the hearts of traditional shavers at first sight.

Until recently, Fatip was only known for its open comb aggressive razors. Indeed, the classic Fatip open comb models were known as quite aggressive models. Now they have both open and close comb razors. At the end of 2016, Fatip made a change in the production process and the molds used for production were changed. Some visual defects like minor chips and burrs that could be seen in older models have been corrected. Also, the base plate which the blade sits, was widened, making the razor a tad less aggressive. In addition to the classical column-style handled models inspired by Greek architecture, models with wooden handles were introduced. In 2017, the Gentile models with closed comb heads were introduced for those looking for an even more milder model.

Today, Fatip manufactures 5 main groups as classic Grande with long and thick handles and Piccolo with short and thin handles, Retro with long thin handles and classic design, Wood with wooden handles and Nobile series with stylish look.

The retro models only come with a classic open comb head and come in four finishes in chrome, nickel, gold or gunmetal.

The original designs; the Grande and its slightly smaller brother Piccolo; again, come in four different finishes with both the original open comb and the mild gentile close comb heads.

The Wood series as the name suggests has genuine wooden handles produced from walnut, wenge, olive and zebrano wood. These very elegant razors are produced with both original open comb and mild gentile close comb heads. All heads are made from brass, plated with chrome.

Nobile series, which is newest series, tries to highlight elegance. Available in two types, with polished black acrylic or imitation horn handles, these models can be preferred either with the original open comb or with gentile close comb heads just like the wood series.

Although it has undergone a course with up and downs in its 70 years of adventure, today Fatip has strengthened its position with a wide range of products to suit everyone's tastes. Don't wait to indulge yourself with Fatip safety razors combining affordable prices with elegant Italian design.
